The Martingale system has long been used by people as a way to try to beat the system and win a fortune. It is actually very simple to follow and while you can’t use this system in the real world casinos practically. And, in theory, yes it works.

If you spend any time looking at betting strategies for black jacks, blue ladders, then chances are that you may come across the martingale system or renamed version of it. The martingale system is one of the most popular betting systems available. It is majorly tried by beginners.  So there are mixed opinions on its viability. The real question is whether it really works or not. So, let us discuss on the merits and shortfalls of this system. To start off, let us discuss the basic concept behind the martingale system.

Now, in this system, if you win a bet, bet the same again in the following round. And, if you lose, bet double your last bet again in the following round. This will ensure that you hedge your losses and keep your winnings. This is not as simple as described. It has some major assumptions which are actually the shortfalls of martingale system which are as follows;

Assumptions are;

1.      The player has unlimited bank roll and the table limits are high enough to afford the streak of losses. Think about it this way; suppose the player lose 1 and bet double $20. Similarly, when he loses 2 and bet double $ 40. And, then, again, when he loses 3 and bet double $ 80 and so on. This means you have already spent “X amount” and now need to spend another “X amount” to stay in the game. That’s why martingale system is the reason for most of the failures in the game. Players run out of money before they could actually win indefinable amount.

2.      And, the second assumption is that the table limits are high enough for the player to afford streak of losses. This means if you have that x amount to put into the game, table may not allow putting in on the basis of table limits. That means you have to move to a bigger table to play more.

3.      And the last most dangerous assumption is that the table limits can cripple your strategy by breaking the flow of sequential process

In truth this Martingale system actually works, but in practical situations, it is a costly affair. So, the player needs to play smart.

Anti-Martingale system is one of popular method of betting these days. It is actually reverse of the Martingale system. In Anti martingale system, the players/ gamblers increases bet after wins and reduces them after the loss. This approach is based upon the fact that the player/ gambler will benefit from a winning streak while reduces losses having a losing streak. However, this theory fails because each event occurs independently of earlier events happened.On comparing both the systems, it has been found that anti-martingale system is less risky as it offers less opportunity for the players to get back their losses. And, on the other side the traditional system is risky and rewarding.
